INDUCTANCE: An
inductance is the element in which energy stored in the form of electro
magnetic field. The inductance is denoted by 'L' and it is measured in
"Henrie's(H).
A passive component designed to resist
changes in current.
·
Inductors are often referred to as
"AC resistors". The ability to resist changes in current and store
energy in its magnetic field account for the bulk of the useful properties of
inductors. current passing through an inductor will produce a magnetic field. A
changing magnetic field induces a voltage which opposes the field-producing
current. This property of impending changes of current is known as inductance.

V(t)=L*di(t)/dt
·
For an inductance
the voltage across it is proportional to the rate of change of current passing
through it.
V(t) á½± (di(t)/dt
)
where L=
Inductance and is proportionality constant
·
The power in the
inductor is given by
P(t)=V(t)*i(t)-
watts
·
The energy stored
in the inductor in the form of electro magnetic field.
W=(1/2)Li^2(t)-
Joules
